The boomsets from HEIL are well known all over the world and are used during contests and with most major DXpeditions. Two different models are available featuring a choice of ear pads. The headband is adjustable for maximum comfort; the tiny little microphone is integrated into the flexible and bendy boom that can be swiveled upwards for travel or storage.
The boomsets are available with two different microphone cartridges: The HC-5 type is the microphone cartridge for everyday ragchewing on 80m; the HC-4 is engineered with a frequency response designed to cut through the pile-ups and therefore well suited for DXpeditions and contests.
The connectors are standardized; all Heil Boomsets require the appropriate adapter to mate them to your particular model TRX, e.g. adaptors are available for YAESU/KENWOOD/ICOM etc. The adaptors are color coded for specific radio models which means you can leave the adapter connected to the radio and simply take the boomset to another TRX.
The long standing problems experiencing not sufficient mike gain with ICOM equipment are solved now: Together with ICOM Bob HEIL developed a new active microphone cartridge featuring condensor technology. The new models create sufficient audio level and are also suitable for VOX operations.
Several new products are now available with this new cartridge.
A new highend microphone which has been designed specifically for transceivers like the Icom IC-7800 oder Yaesu FT-DX9000. Bob Heil writes 'it is wonderful on the KENWOOD TS-2000, 850, 870, YAESU FT-1000 Mark V, and all of the ICOM PRO models as well'.
The PR-781 uses a dynamic microphone module from the professional studio series by Heil, which offers a wide frequency response and a high dynamic range. If you already own another microphone stand with shockmount by Heil you can use that with the PR-781 as well.
Additionally required is a connecting cable like the CC-1-XLR-x.

Heil introduces the new Active Noise Cancelling Headphone. Integrated are two small microphones which pick up the ambient noise. With a small differential amplifier this ambient noise is phase-shifted and mixed with the audio. This results in nearly total cancellation of the ambient noise (about 70%). A stunning effect when you wear these headphones for the first time - near absolute quietness.
There are many useful applications: to reduce the local QRM from the contest operator on the next station, cancel fan noise from the PA or the PC blower. Use it on a plane and finally understand the audio from the film. Or use it for a quiet sleep on the airplane because the engine noise is mostly cancelled.
3.5mm stereo headphone plug, fits many radios, CD players and the airplane armrest. An adaptor to 6.3mm phone plug is supplied. Quiet-Phone requires a 1.5V "AA" size battery (not supplied) which allows for about 30hours operation.
Lightweight Headset with one or two earspeakers and adjustable boom mike. Integrated into the cable is a PTT box with Up and Down keys. The keys have a distinct key click giving instant feedback, which makes operation while driving very easy. The PTT box has a clip on the rear for simple fastening to the shirt etc., allowing to take the weight of the cable.
With different adaptor cables (not included) the Traveler can be used on nearly any radio: we offer cables for most HF and mobile rigs as well as handheld radios and even the soundcard of your PC. Please note that you need to order the cable separately.
Extreme lightweight headset for expeditions or the field day available with the standard or DX microphone cartridge or with the new ICOM cartridge as well. Requires AD-1 connection cable in accordance with the transceiver model (see below).

The phase-reversal switch switches one earphone in phase by 180°, leading to a very astonishing effect: either the sound is perfectly centered or it becomes spatial and get easier to decode. Impedance 200 Ω.

Note: with the Icom cartridge the PROSETPLUSIC requires a special adaptor cable (ADIC-x) for use with Icom rigs, the cable should not have an internal capacitor. If you already have a AD-1-I-8 you can easily remove or shorten the capacitor in the 3.5mm phone plug.

Considering the fact that most microphones used for radio communications have been originally designed for audio PA systems one should not be surprised about the heavy bass modulation of those microphones... The HM-10 is equipped with the new full-range mic cartridge elements HC-4 / HC-5. The HM-10 DUAL is equipped with BOTH cartridges for dual configuration! An adapter is required to connect the microphones to the radio as is also the case with the boomsets (adapter series CC-1 or CH-1). When using more than one radio you would need various adapters but only one microphone! A boom clip is supplied to enable installation on various microphone stands (TB-1 or PL-2T, see below). The microphones have a recessed PTT switch.

For years, Bob Heil has been working on eliminating the hollow, clamshell sounds of the hand microphone. There is no argument, when you place a high quality microphone element inside a shell, the end result sounds like you are talking from the bottom of a barrel !
Bob designed a very special open sorbothane shock mount that puts the various Heil microphone elements in the open, not encased in a shell. This results in the cleanest, clearest and most articulate hand microphone - EVER ! The low handling noise and exceptional cardiod pattern makes the Handi Mic ideal for mobile or portable use.
All of the HANDI MIC models are shipped with the unique Heil Dash or wall mount, a 5/8" -27 mic clip and a foam windscreen.
Required cable (not included): The Heil CH-1 is a shielded coil cord with 14" of straight section and 15" of coil making it very easy to use unlike most of the coil cords.

HC-4 and HC-5 may only be sold in exchange against defect cartridges. So if you have a defunct cartridge you have to remove it from your microphone or headset and send it in in exchange for a new one. The listed price is valid for an exchange only.

Frequency response of Heil microphone cartridges
AD-1-xxx is required for the Heil headsets (ProSet, ProSetPlus, ProSetQuiet, BM-10 etc.). Available with 8-pin round or modular plug, for various rig types (Icom, Kenwood und Yaesu).
For headsets to be used with Icom rigs, other cables are required: ADIC do not have a capacitor in the supply line, as do the AD-1-I cables.
CC-1-xxx can be used for all Heil handheld mikes with 4 pin XLR connector (Goldline, GM, Handimic). These cables are available with 8 pin round or modular plug for various rig types (Icom, Kenwood und Yaesu). These cable do have an additional PTT connector (6.3mm phone jack) for a foot switch.
CH-1-xxx can be used with all Heil handheld mikes with 4 pin XLR connector (Goldline, GM, Handimic). Coil cord approx. 15" coil, 14" straight. These cables are available with 8 pin round or modular plug for various rig types (Icom, Kenwood und Yaesu). The cables with 8 pin round connector have a connector for a PTT foot switch (6.3mm phone jack, like CC-1-xx), the cables with 8 pin modular plug don't have this connector.
